IPS Energy Production & Management

Program Scope

The IPS “Energy Production & Management” offers a comprehensive postgraduate education, focusing on the following fields:

  • Energy markets.
  • Conventional and renewable energy production.
  • Energy storage and H2 technologies.
  • Electricity transmission and distribution.
  • Smart grid technologies.
  • Distributed energy resources (DERs).
  • Electrification of energy uses, energy saving and efficiency.
  • Environmental concerns.
  • Investment evaluation and project management.

The Program aims to promote and develop interdisciplinary approaches of addressing contemporary energy issues, in order to support the development of professionals with horizontal training and specialized knowledge, capable of adequately covering the increasing needs of businesses, organizations and institutions in the energy sector.

The minimum studies duration is three academic semesters. The first two semesters are devoted to attending courses held in the afternoon, while the preparation of the master's thesis takes place in the third semester and can last throughout the second year of studies. The maximum study duration of the Program is two full calendar years, while attendance at courses and laboratories is mandatory.

Successful completion of the studies leads to the award of an Interdepartmental Graduate Diploma (Master of Science).

The IPS “Energy Production & Management” program accepts graduates of NTUA engineering schools and other Greek Technical Engineering Universities, graduates of Greek Universities or accredited foreign institutions recognized as equivalent to Greek Universities and related to the scope of the program. Senior students of NTUA and Greek Universities of the above categories can be admitted to the Program, under conditions.

Program courses start in October.

40 postgraduate students are admitted in the Program, every year.

Payment of tuition fees is not required to participate in the Program.

Program administration

The School responsible for organizing the IPS “Energy Production & Management” is the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of NTUA, also collaborating with the Schools of Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering of NTUA. The administrative support of the program is carried out by the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of NTUA.
